Third Pakku Festival-2083 Kicks Off to Celebrate and Promote Authentic Nepali Cuisine

KATHMANDU, October 12: The ‘Third Pakku Festival-2083’ officially commenced on Sunday, organized by the President Business Group. The five-day culinary event aims to preserve, promote, and brand authentic Nepali cuisine, indigenous flavors, and the nation’s traditional hospitality culture.

Now in its third consecutive year, the festival has become an annual fixture for the organizers. According to the President Business Group, insights gathered from past editions, positive customer feedback, and a surging public interest in traditional Nepali gastronomy have motivated them to deliver a more refined and expansive campaign this year.

Running through October 15 (Asoj 29), the festival features a variety of traditional dishes—with Pakku taking center stage—across the group’s outlets in Sundhara, Maharajgunj, Battisputali, and Kalanki. Patrons can experience authentic preparation methods and traditional Nepali hospitality at these locations.

In a bid to extend the festival’s reach beyond the Kathmandu Valley, ‘President’s Pakku’ is also being showcased at a food festival in Bhairahawa. Organizers noted that this regional expansion aims to connect authentic Nepali flavors with Lumbini Province, bridging diverse geographical regions and tourist destinations to establish Pakku as a distinct symbol of Nepali culture and culinary heritage.

The President Business Group, an active entity in Nepal’s hotel and restaurant sector for the past two decades, operates under the guiding philosophy of “Flavor, Health, and Hospitality Together.” The group currently employs over 350 individuals directly across its various outlets.

Looking ahead, the business group announced plans for further expansion, with new outlets slated to open in Butwal (Rupandehi) and Budhanilkantha (Kathmandu). Organizers stated that these upcoming locations are expected to enhance local access to hospitality services while generating additional employment opportunities in the region.
